The European Commission has declared that Europe is ready to provide aid to Indonesia after the 6.4 magnitude quake on the Richter scale that hit Lombok Island in the south-east of Indonesia has killed at least 14 people and injured 100 people.
This powerful earthquake caused scenes of panic, residents fleeing their homes and hotel occupants rushing outside. The quake, whose epicenter was not far from the surface (7 km), took place at 6:47 am local time Sunday

The Commission’s Emergency Response Coordination Center is monitoring the situation. Aid can be mobilized via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism in response to a request for assistance from the authorities of the disaster-affected country in Europe or around the world.
