A French gendarmerie van was sighted by the Italian police in Claviere (Turin), near the border, while it sents down a couple of men, apparently migrants of African descent, in a wooded area. The incident happened last Friday. Then, the vehicle was send back across the French border. This news was confirmed by the Italian Ministry of interior. According to the Minister of Interior Matteo Salvini: “If someone thinks of using us as the refugee camp of Europe, violating laws, borders and agreements, he is wrong”.
But according to prefect of the French region Hautes-Alpes, Cecile Bigot-Dekeyzer, it was a mistake committed by gendarmes arrived only a few days in the region bordering Italy, which did not know the place well. According to the ANSA sources of the French press, the government is working to find a clarification on what looks like an accident. The same sources ensure that “the request for clarifications sent by the French Embassy to Rome” has been send to those responsible.
