Although it is still unclear whether Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the interrogation and the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, more and more evidence lead to believe that Saudi officials with close ties to the young prince are behind the crime. As a result, US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and UK International Trade Secretary Fox will both not be attending the upcoming Saudi investment summit. Their actions are not isolated, Dutch and French representatives are also withdrawing from the summit. While Saudi Arabia’s involvement has yet to be verified, Turkish authorities say that they have evidence of Riyadh’s involvement.
