Three armed attackers were killed this Friday, as they were trying to storm the Chinese consulate in the Pakistani city of Karachi. These gunmen managed to kill two police officers before getting shot. This attack has been claimed by a separatist group called “Baloch Liberation Army”, a nationalist group that has been fighting the Pakistani government for the independence of ethnically Baloch majority areas of Balochistan province. Ever since the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in 2013, this group has been targeting Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
