The ‘Ndragheta mafia has been struck by several national police forces from European countries on Wednesday. The criminal network originally from Italy counts more than 6000 members and represents a dangerous threat with their activities of drug trafficking and money laundering.
The police operation called Pollino involves police from Italy, Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands, all coordinated with Eurojust, the European judicial cooperation. A few hundreds of people have been arrested this far and official details will follow in an upcoming news conference.
