On Monday 14th January 2019, during a speech, Theresa May will declare that the British Parliament is set to do everything it can to delay or even cancel Brexit instead of the UK to leave the European Union without a deal. According to the PM, such a thing would cause a “catastrophic harm” to the trust of the population towards politics and democracy. She is convinced that “a no deal is better than a bad deal” and that the result of the referendum has to be respected and applied. Brexit is set to happen on 29th March 2019.
Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, stated that Labour would vote against the deal and that, if it is voted down, they would trigger a motion of no confidence in the government, leading to general elections.
